What is Write for Right India?
Write for Right India is a writing initiative of Shhalaj Publishing House — a national programme that helps people, and especially children, learn to write, write with purpose and see their writing published. It brings together the discipline of a publishing house with the openness of an educational initiative, so that people of all ages, and especially young people, have a structured way to express themselves and be heard.
Why It Exists
Many people, particularly children and students, have ideas and stories worth sharing but few structured opportunities to develop them, write them down and see them reach an audience. Write for Right India exists to close that gap — connecting learning with writing, and writing with publishing, so that expression has somewhere to go.
Who It Is For
Write for Right India is for students, schools, teachers, parents and independent writers across India. Its programmes are designed to be accessible to young participants while remaining meaningful for the educators and families who support them.
What We Do
We run writing programmes that guide participants from writing through to publication. The first is the Children's Anthology, whose first book is Fireflies: Stories, Poems and Essays by Young Writers.
How to SubmitShhalaj Publishing House
Write for Right India is an initiative of Shhalaj Publishing House, a family business since 1938 with more than 600 titles. Shhalaj brings its publishing experience and editorial standards to every programme; entries are read by a panel of empanelled editors before anything reaches publication.
What Comes Next
Write for Right India begins with the Children's Anthology. As it grows, we hope to add further programmes — for young authors, schools and teachers, and writing workshops — each added deliberately, once it is ready.
